Scouting in Abu Dhabi runs entirely on volunteers. You don't need experience, and there's a role to fit most lives — from lending a hand at a weekly section meeting to joining a Group Trustee Board. Here are the roles we're actively looking to fill.
Weekly or fortnightly during term-time
The easiest way in. Help run weekly meetings alongside the Section Leader — set up activities, lend a hand with games and badge work, and get to know the young people. Come every week or share it with other parents. Training provided; just bring enthusiasm.
A few hours a month, plus occasional meetings
Each of our Groups is run by a Trustee Board (the Group Executive), responsible for finances, safeguarding and equipment. We have openings across our Boards. It’s a great fit if you have finance, fundraising, premises or governance experience — and much of it can be done remotely. Full handover and support provided; you don’t need a child in the Group.
Weekly during school term-time, plus the occasional camp
Lead the weekly programme for a section — Beavers, Cubs or Scouts — with games, badges, activities and the occasional sleepover or camp. You’ll have a team of assistants and helpers around you, full training, and the backing of the wider Group. No previous Scouting experience needed: we’ll train you.
