Moving on
BSO families move on more often than UK Groups expect — postings end, contracts shift, families head home. Here's what to do when your time with Abu Dhabi Scouts ends, whether you're moving to another BSO country, returning to the UK, or joining the Scouts movement of the country you're in.
Moving to another BSO country
Moving to another BSO host country? Get in touch a couple of weeks before you go. We'll send a transfer card via BSO Area and, where we can, introduce you to the receiving Group directly so your child has a place lined up before you arrive.
Returning to the UK
Returning to the UK is the easiest move — your child's Scouts record transfers automatically via OSM. Find your nearest UK Group at scouts.org.uk/get-involved/join-us/ and the receiving District will be in touch.
Continuing with the host-country NSO
If you're staying in the UAE longer-term and would like your child to continue with the Emirates Scout Association, we're happy to make an introduction. See scouting in the UAE for the WOSM-recognised body and contact details.
Records transfer
Scouting records (badges, awards, safeguarding consents) move with your child via OSM. Medical and consent forms held in paper are returned to you at the final meeting.
