Moving to the United Arab Emirates

British families arriving in the UAE often look for Scouts within the first few weeks. This page is the short version: how to enrol, what the school year looks like, how subs work, and the volunteer ask we make of every new family.

School calendar

Abu Dhabi Scouts follows the British-curriculum school year in the UAE — three terms a year, with breaks aligned to the school calendar.

Where we meet

We meet on school campuses across Abu Dhabi — 1st (BSAK) on Thursdays, 3rd (Raha KCC) on Tuesdays and 4th (Noya) on Wednesdays, with our Explorers at RIS Gardens Campus on Thursdays. Section-by-section timings are on the Join us page and the map on Where we meet.

Subs

Subs
AED 400 per term

Uniform

The standard Scouts uniform is available from suppliers in the UAE; we'll point you at the nearest stockist once your child has been allocated a place. The blue uniform shirt and the Group necker are the only items you need on day one.

Volunteer with us

We can't run a Group this size without volunteer help. Families who get involved get priority on the waiting list — even an hour every couple of months makes a difference. See how to volunteer for the current asks.
